This survey was conducted by the Environics Institute for Survey Research, and the results indicate that Canadians are ready to accept even more immigrants into their country.

What Began as Political Motivation Turned into Personal Resolve for US Family that Moved to Canada After Presidential Election

Heather and Robin Vargas spent their new year moving to Halifax, Canada all the way from Charleston, South Carolina. They began talking about moving to Canada on the night that Donald Trump was elected president of the United States, but as they did more research, they fell in love with the great country of Canada. It Started with Politics

One early November night—election day in the United States—Donald Trump was elected president. That was when Heather and Robin Vargas began discussing moving to Canada.

Heather Vargas explained, “It just felt surreal up until that night. And then it continued to feel surreal every day moving forward. You turn on the news and it’s like a reality show that is your reality […we] said, ‘We should move to Canada.'”

Their Motivation Soon Turned Personal

Although their conversation began because of the election, Robin and Heather soon realized that Canada was the perfect fit for them. Ceremony Brings Great Joy to 48 New Canadian Citizens

In December 2017, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights held a citizenship ceremony to honor the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The forty-eight people who were sworn in as Canadian citizens were individuals who wanted to better their lives by moving to a country with better opportunities and quality of life than their home countries. An employee at the museum, Olivia Bechard, felt that it is important to celebrate inclusion and diversity.

The ceremony facilitated this celebration by including discussions about what it means to be a Canadian citizen. Canadian Visa Professionals understands the importance of tolerance and unity, which is why we work with people every day to simplify the Canadian visa process.
